This film highlights the key moments of this exceptional gathering: the opening of the exhibition 1725. Native American Allies at the Court of Louis XV at the Palace of Versailles, discussions around historical collections at the Musée du quai Branly–Jacques Chirac, object consultations, and the voices of Indigenous representatives sharing their perspectives on ancestral belongings, diplomatic relationships, and the enduring significance of these objects and collections today.
Organized as part of the CRoyAN project (Royal Collections of North America), these encounters continue a collaborative research initiative that brings together museum collections and Indigenous knowledge. The provided an opportunity to revisit a shared history of alliances between France and Native Nations, while creating new pathways for dialogue, cultural reconnection, and the transmission of Indigenous histories and knowledge.
