Megan BAKER

Megan is a citizen of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, Research Associate for its Historic Preservation department and PhD Candidate in Anthropology at UCLA. She is the editor/author of "Iti Fabvssa," Historic Preservation's column in the Choctaw Nation's Biskinik newspaper, the producer/host of Chahta Tosholi, a virtual speaker series on Choctaw history and culture, and a researcher/consultant on numerous government and department projects as well as collaborations with outside institutions. Her dissertation examines the institution of private property on Choctaw lands and its effects on contemporary Choctaw political-economic life in Oklahoma. She holds a MA in American Indian Studies from UCLA and a BA in Ethnicity and Race Studies from Columbia University.
